The Fortune & Hopkins story began in 2016. After years of working together painting on canvases to create gifts for friends and family, Jayne Fortune and John Hopkins realised that their artwork didn’t just have to be hung on walls. They discovered that there was a gap in the market for a Homeware and Ceramics range that was fun, yet practical and offered quality to its customers.
“Not everyone has the space to hang artwork or can afford original paintings. That was our lightbulb moment when we realised that we could put our designs onto ceramics and homeware, so they can be enjoyed anywhere.”
Today the company is run by Jayne and John, and their designs come from both of them.
“We appreciate that not everyone could live and work with their partner. I suppose that is why we are so lucky. We share a very similar artistic style, sense of humour and love for animals.”
At Fortune & Hopkins they like to create fun designs with a unique flare and most importantly make people happy. Jayne and John design things that brings them joy and want to use at home themselves. This key element is what brings a unique warmth and fun to their designs, making them stand out from the crowd.
At Fortune & Hopkins they want you to enjoy their designs and make your tea or coffee taste great. This is why all of their pottery is made from English Fine Bone China. It is produced in Stoke-on-Trent, the traditional home of British pottery. All of their pieces are individually hand decorated ensuring attention to detail.
Fortune & Hopkins are proud to be a British company. All of their products are made in the UK and are sold worldwide. They believe that everyone should be proud of British made products, and that we should support British manufacturing.
